In recognition of Veterans’ Day, Carolinas Hospital System is hosting a special event honoring those who have served in the military or currently serving and their family members. Please join us Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for a cookout and health fair at the Floyd Conference Center located on the hospital’s main campus.
Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be given to the first 200 people; for those following, a $5.00 dollar donation will be requested and all proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Free health screenings will include vision, blood pressure, grip strength, body mass index and upper & lower body strength test. Health education will include sleep related disorders, diabetes, wound care and nutrition, as well as resource information on Living Wills and Advance Directives. Other vendors who will be available include: Wounded Warrior Project; VFW Women’s Auxiliary; financial planning from local banks and more.
Please bring old cell phones for the “Cell Phone for Soldiers” collection bin.
Carolinas Hospital System is teaming up with the Wounded Warrior Project and will be announcing the “Carolinas Military Mission” at the celebration. This mission involves sending care packages to both active troops and wounded warriors during their rehabilitation.
