Carolinas Hospital System Honors Volunteers
Florence, SC (April 26, 2012) – Carolinas Hospital System recently hosted its annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon at the Floyd Conference Center. The event was in recognition of National Volunteer Week and celebrated the numerous contributions made by volunteers at the hospital.
In 2011, the volunteers donated 15,529 hours of service and ten volunteers donated over 300 hours during the year. Volunteers dedicated their time to many projects such as greeting and escorting patients and visitors, assisting with discharges, serving as resources at information desks, assisting staff with clerical duties, knitting or crocheting booties for babies born at The Women’s Center, working at the Senior Life Expo and much more.
This year’s recipients of the Service Excellence Award were Geraldine Waters and Grace and James Davis. The Service Excellence Award is presented to a volunteer who consistently demonstrates a passion of volunteering with a positive and compassionate manner.
The Volunteer of the Year Awards were presented to Shirley Page and Ron Averette. The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a volunteer who demonstrates extraordinary efforts in his/her performance, attitude and commitment to the mission of Carolinas Hospital System.
Pinkney Speights received the Service Excellence and Most Hours Award.
We are extremely proud of our volunteers and appreciate their dedication and time to the day-to-day operations of the hospital. They truly make the Carolinas difference!
