In addition to diagnostic services, surgery and chemotherapy, Carolinas Hospital System also offers state-of-the-art Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), a powerful, effective weapon in the fight against cancer (see IMRT video).
Our linear accelerator is a complex, finely-tuned system that precisely targets and bombards cancerous tumors with x-rays and electrons to stop the spread of cancer, provide relief for cancer patients, and in many cases, cure the disease.
