Carolinas Amputee Support Group
Thursday, May 22 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
This support group meets in the main cafeteria at Cedar Tower, 121 East Cedar Street in Florence. The Carolinas Amputee Support Group has been established to provide opportunities for amputees of all kinds from all backgrounds to interact, share information and address issues facing those who have lost a limb. Whether your amputation was recent or decades ago, whether it was due to disease, accident or congenital defect, all amputees are invited to attend the monthly meetings. Congestive Heart Failure Support Group
Tuesday, May 20 at 10 am
A program designed to provide education for individuals who suffer from congestive heart failure or who may be at risk. Patients and family members will discuss topics such as: What is Congestive Heart Failure? How is Congestive Heart Failure Diagnosed and Treated? and Medications/Diet. Diabetes Support Group
Wednesday, May 7 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon
This group meets in the main hospital, Medical Mall A, Suite 120, 805 Pamplico Highway in Florence. This support group meets each month to provide updated information on the treatment of diabetes. Free Smoking Cessation Class
Every Tuesday (May 13, 20, 27)
Let us help you kick your smoking habit once and for all by attending the FreshStart Smoking Cessation classes. This is a four week program with one class being held every Tuesday for 4 weeks. For more information, please call 674-2242.
Heart Visitors Program
This support group is for people recovering from heart disease. One important function of the group is the Heart Visitor Program, where members visit patients who are awaiting heart surgery at local hospitals. They provide the patient and his or her family with support and encouragement until discharged from the hospital. For more information, please call 674-2242.
Free Total Joint Replacement Program
Tuesday, Nay 20 from 10:00 AM – 12 Noon,
This group meets at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility located at 1925 Hoffmeyer Road in Florence. If you are experiencing severe chronic pain in your knees or hips, have contemplated talking to your doctor or have unanswered questions about joint replacement, then the Total Joint Replacement information class is for you! Stroke Support Group
Thursday, May 15 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
This group focuses on those in the community who have suffered a stroke and provides an opportunity to share and learn valuable information on adjustment and recovery after a stroke. The group meets on the third Thursday every month from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Carolinas Hospital System’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, 1925 Hoffmeyer Road in Florence.
