Emergency Department
When the unexpected happens, the Emergency Department at Carolinas Hospital System is ready to respond with skilled, compassionate care. Through our certified Trauma Center, we offer the full spectrum of care for neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, gynecological, pediatric, gastrointestinal and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Emergency Department is fully staffed with board certified physicians and experienced nurses with advanced certifications in emergency care.
The Emergency entrance is well-marked and conveniently located, assuring you easy access. Inside you'll find special rooms custom-equipped for a variety of needs, including cardiac and orthopedic care. Mini-workstations keep nurses close to their patients. Just inside the ambulance entrance is a 4-bed trauma bay for the most severely injured or sick patients.
Since time is one of the most important factors when providing emergency care, a dedicated elevator within the Emergency Department is always available.
